Fresh Challenges Every DayIf you're always up for a challenge, ready to run head-on into change and comfortable with the uncomfortable, you’ll fit right in here. Join Guidewire as a Junior Site Reliability Engineer.
If serving hundreds of customers making millions of transactions sounds exciting to you, then you’ve come to the right place. Our Site Reliability Engineering team (SRE) delivers 24x7 assistance to customers using Guidewire’s cloud platform. Here, you’ll be part of a team developing and deploying tooling to improve the performance of our enterprise applications. In the face of issues, you’ll be highly resourceful and get real fulfillment from problem-solving at scale. A true passion for testing, tooling, and automation will take you even further.
We’re on the lookout for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and 3+ years of technical work experience.

Ideally, you also:

  • Are familiar with the agile software development lifecycle.
  • Have no trouble running Apache, Tomcat, or Java in a live production environment.
  • Have worked with CI/CD, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS technologies.
  • Can surveil application performance, especially using and supporting tools like AppDynamics or Datadog.
  • Can develop and extend performant Java tooling and monitoring code while pinpointing and addressing performance issues.
  • Make easy work of relational databases like Aurora PostgresSQL and/or Oracle RDS.
  • Can read and understand critical application logging outputs.
  • Have some full-stack chops (think Java, JSON, Javascript, Angular JS, and web UI development or developing REST services) - a bonus.

  • We’re looking for gifted troubleshooters who can think on their feet and who genuinely enjoy problem-solving, from applications all the way down to infrastructure. Having sound judgement and a head for business will also help you progress. Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, along with a ‘can-do’ approach, will make you even more invaluable.
