Lucid Motors is looking for an exceptional Infrastructure & Operations leader to lead its Cloud and Global Infrastructure Operations function. This is a critical, highly visible role reporting to the Vice President – IT. The successful candidate will ensure that Lucid’s critical internal infrastructure & Cloud connectivity meet the required reliability and performance expectations while constantly innovating to address the infrastructure needs of Product Engineering teams.
As a Senior Director you will apply your engineering leadership skills and knowledge of infrastructure and software development to drive ultra-scalable and highly reliable Cloud and InfrastructureLucid’s diverse range of Electric Vehicles with integrated systems and software makes reliable and high-performance infrastructure more important than ever. Our products are engineered for security, reliability and scalability, running the full stack from infrastructure to applications to devices and hardware. 
Who You Are?
Senior Director - Global Cloud Infrastructure and Operations, will be a seasoned executive with tremendous drive, intelligence, and capability. She/he will be highly motivated and have the ability and desire to have real impact across the organization. In this role, you will have Global responsibility for the design, implementation and operations of Lucid’s Cloud and Global Infrastructure. The ideal person must a be an engineering leader with a track record of leading global teams and successfully scaling Data Center, Public and Private cloud infrastructure to run a five nines reliable production environment. The role is responsible for defining and driving the plans to build and evolve our infrastructure technology teams to support Lucid’s Infrastructure for strategic growth. The leader will be data driven utilizing key metrics to measure internal and external operational level agreements to provide quality, reliable infrastructure services, including compute, storage, and network.

The Role:

  • Build and lead strong global Infrastructure and Operations teams which run mission critical services IT services
  • Manage Lucid’s critical Data Centers & Global network to demanding SLA’s for high availability and DR, scalability, reliability and operability
  • Create a seamless bridge between Product Management, Software, Security, Manufacturing, and IT teams
  • Manage a global team with follow-the-sun coverage
  • Build and enhance relationships with critical infrastructure and network partners
  • Define the infrastructure and technology operations strategy to support the business needs for scalability, growing demand for capacity and associated Quality of service (e.g., performance, reliability, and disaster recovery measures).
  • Providing strategic thought leadership and guiding critical initiatives and transformation activities across the Infrastructure, Engineering and Operations organization; promoting the organization’s strategic vision and execution
  • Provide 24/7/365 IT Operations support to the business
  • Work closely with Security and Compliance teams on Audit and Compliance


  • 15+ years of demonstrated ability in running large data centers and global networks. At least half that experience should have been spent in a managerial role.
  • At least 5 years leading a Global Infrastructure team 
  • At least 5 years managing complex public / private cloud environments (AWS experience required)
  • Should have experience managing a large team, and have strong skills in managing budgets, vendors and partners as needed
  • Experience with negotiations and contracts with IT Vendors as well as Managed Service providers 
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science is required. An advanced degree is highly desirable
  • Outstanding management capabilities, including the ability to build and lead highly effective team across geographic locations
  • Track record of leading services, budgets, staffing levels and achieving financial results
  • Strong technical background in an environment with a variety of hardware and software, with a concentration in compute, storage and network
  • Demonstrated success leading modernization and transformation for a technology company of comparable size with minimal disruption,
  • Create technological vision, drive technology strategy and influence stakeholders on strategic direction
  • Mastery of technology that runs the infrastructure is a critical requirement – across Compute, Network, Storage, Monitoring and tools. Exposure to diverse vendor technologies is equally important
  • Experience with M&A and integration a plus
  • Manufacturing and Automotive experience a plus
