We are looking for a seasoned Software Quality Assurance Automation Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen.
The position is best suited for an experienced, senior level QA engineer with at least seven years of experience testing web-based applications. This position will have a heavy focus on converting manual test plans to automated tests and developing and maintaining new automated tests for our current test suites built on Cypress, Mocha, and Chai. This role requires the ability to understand complex systems and data both from the user perspective and technology perspective and independently investigate problems. Automated and manual testing experience on web-based applications is required.  Experience with integrating automated testing into CI/CD processes is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the overall quality of all aspects for a complex software system, including data, APIs, and web application 
  • Work with developers and other automation engineers to create and maintain automation frameworks
  • Shape the overall QA process through the application of best practices and new approaches to testing workflow
  • Hands-on experience with different types of testing (Functional, Regression, Smoke, Performance, Load, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with different test case management tools such as TestRails
  • Web Accessibility (508 compliance) experience 
  • Experience with the JAWS accessibility tool is a plus
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL database concepts preferred and testing off ETLs
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia or Paw
  • Hands-on experience with front end automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, NightwatchJS, Puppeteer, or PlaywrightJavaScript, PHP, C#, or JAVA programming experience is a plus
  • Proficient in at least one source control tool (Git)
  • Experience with Load, Stress, and Performance testing with tools such as Artillery.io Locust.io, Jmeter or Goose
  • Comfortable supporting a high velocity team

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a software testing role
  • Hands-on experience with different types of testing (System, Regression, Smoke, Performance, Load, etc.)
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch in Node, NPM or Python
  • Hands on experience with different test case management tools such as TestRails
  • Knowledge of sql/no-sql database concepts preferred and testing of ETLs
  • Hands-on experience testing and debugging web-based software including use of in-browser development tools
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tool such as Postman, Insomnia or Paw
  • Hands-on experience with front end automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, NightwatchJS, Puppeteer, or PlaywrightJavaScript, PHP, C#, or JAVA programming experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of Software Configuration Management concepts and methodologies
  • Web Accessibility (508) experience Experience with the JAWS accessibility tool is a plus
  • Proficient in at least one source control tool (Git)Experience with Load, Stress, and Performance testing with tools such as Artillery.io Locust.io, Jmeter or Goose
  • Experience with devops processes and setting up local environments with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools(JIRA/Confluence)
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and seek ways to improve overall team quality
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science strongly preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry
  • Federal Government contracting work experience
  • Prior experience working remotely full-time

Physical and emotional requirements for the job:

  • This position is to be performed remotely from an individual’s home office and involves sedentary work. Employees in this role can be expected to exert up to 10 pounds of force on occasion in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move standard electronic equipment. Employees are expected to make decisions in a timely manner and display emotional intelligence during occasional stressful situations.
