AWS Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, spanning diverse technologies across multiple industries. The Application Migration, Modernization and Management Practice collaborates across the entire organization to deliver the best solutions for customers, connect with product and service teams, and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs. As trusted customer advocates, the Practice helps organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and/or re-develop existing workloads in the cloud. You will help shape, execute, and deliver solutions for a broad range of customer use cases primarily from large customers focusing on the AWS Graviton processor-based Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) offerings.

We are looking for a highly talented hands-on infrastructure platform architect to help accelerate our growing Application Migration and Modernization business. This is not a pure engineering role, nor is it a pure selling role. It is an individual with a unique modernization and native development expertise, hands-on building, coupled with cross-industry business acumen, including a heavy dose of passion for continued knowledge acquisition and growth, obsession for customers, and their success using that will align well with the desired outcomes to be produced.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Modernization Architect - you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how customers create and consume cloud services at a scale not seen before. As a technical expert you will be at the tip of the spear for technology thought leadership and implementation with major customers across a broad array of AWS Professional Services engagements.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a deep understanding of cloud, use cases, architectures, workflow and ecosystem. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a Infrastructure Modernization Architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Successful candidates will also possess:
· Deep technical skill in software architecture and cloud computing
· Customer facing skills ideally gained within a partner/consulting organization and have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
Our Consultants work with enterprise customers locally, regionally and potentially domestically. As such, Consultants will be required to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed.

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years experience with cloud computing technologies at scale and engaging with customers from start-ups to large fortune 100 enterprises
· 5+ years experience with Linux or Unix infrastructure
· 5+ years experience of hands-on software building and debugging
· 7+ more years of data center and IT management experience
· BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Math background preferred

Preferred Qualifications

· Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
· Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to work effectively across organizations
· Good understanding of ARM and/or x86 CPU Architecture
· Proven experience on containers technologies in the industry (eg. Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Mesos, DC/OS, ISTIO, Calico etc), micro-services and DevOps practices
· Experience with cloud computing and/or related fields (IT, software, etc) including AWS services
· Advanced degrees in information systems, engineering and/or business

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $122,300 per year. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
