As a member of Bottomline’s Legal Spend Management Development team, the Cloud Engineer is responsible for ensuring deployments, upgrades are done in production and pre-production environments in a seamless way and various Devops tools are employed in building servers.  This individual will be working with a cross-functional and cross-border team on our next-generation platform using the latest technologies.

This position can be based out of an open location in the United States

How you’ll contribute:

  • Upgrade of software like elastic search, JDK etc in pre-prod and higher environments using automation tools like puppet
  • Build scalable infrastructure using tools like Terraform
  • Deploy applications using tools like Bamboo, Gitops and Jenkins
  • Deploy ML applications on AWS
  • Offer production support at L2 level
  • Be part of deployments across three Data centers – US, UK and Canada
  • Support and collaborate with Dev Team, QA Team, DBA team, Technical Services for Devops Tasks
  • Be extremely pro-active, fast learner and adaptable to fast pace environment.

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor degree in computer science related field or equivalent work experience

 3+ years’ experience in the following:

    • Configuring and maintaining middleware and web/application environments
    • Working in both Linux and MS Windows environments
    • Scripting languages to automate tasks (Perl, Bash, Ruby, Python or similar)
    • Familiarity with configuration management and automation platforms such as Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Capistrano or similar
    • Good understanding building systems using Terraform
    • Good understanding in Flux and Helm
    • Configuration and management of enterprise monitoring and alerting tools such as Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, OEM, Elastic APM or similar
    • Familiarity with SQL scripting
    • Understanding of fundamental security principles for network traffic and third-party software
    • Problem triage/solving skills and ability to work independently in order to solve problems quickly and automate processes
    • Deployments, L2 support troubleshooting issues at Devops/infrastructure level
    • Application security: dynamic analysis scans, static scans
  • Systems, Application or Development Operations experience
  • Strong Development background with one or more tools / technologies
  • CI/CD - Deployment pipeline experience (Gitops, Jenkins, Ansible, Bamboo)
  • Python / Java / basic understanding, Database medium
  • DevOps container/orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, etc)
  • Knowledgeable of GitOps Deployments
  • AWS Medium knowledge
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), documentation and organizational skills
  • Team player attitude and work ethic
  • General programming skills for automation of administrative actions
