As Vice President, Platform Engineering, you will grow and develop the team that is building our next-generation, enterprise-scale cloud platform in a fast-moving, progressive work environment. You will work across all Ridgeline product and engineering teams to ensure the uptake and delivery of high quality microservices, ranging from role and team-based Entitlements, to Global Search and Audit History, to our extensible APIs. Our Real-Time, Event-Driven Architecture plays a major role in what differentiates Ridgeline from the rest in the investment management space. This role is based in one of our offices in Lake Tahoe, Reno, NV, or New York City.

As a Ridgeline engineering leader, you will also help preserve our values-based culture, guide our operations, and influence our trajectory as an ambitious tech startup. In an investment management industry primed for change, we aim to leave a legacy.

What will you do?

  • Contribute business insight, developer skills, and best practices to an already high performing  team.
  • Ensure continued close collaboration between platform engineering, design, strategy, and product management & engineering  
  • Help define the software development process, from requirements through implementation using agile development methodologies
  • Have end-to-end responsibility for technical facets of a complex system, including the product, infrastructure, security, and quality
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire teams of product engineers as they work to deliver high performing and secure enterprise applications
  • Engage in performance conversations and help align business objectives, key results, and career goals
  • Leveraging organizational design methodology, manage resource allocations for product engineers and track completion of team deliverables 
  • Make a positive impact on a developing tech stack based on modern front-end frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end services
  • Lead by example to continue building a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Ensure close relationships in a multi-location organization, connecting our product and engineering teams

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years in senior software engineering leadership position
  • Previous experience supporting both managers and individual contributors in a fast paced environment
  • Experience architecting and designing new products and technologies in the cloud
  • Clear and crisp communicator with employees of all levels
  • Ability to lead and influence both with and without authority
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural patterns
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while working towards ‘big-picture’ goals
  • An aptitude for problem-solving
  • Experience recruiting and evaluating talent, and building software development teams from scratch


  • Experience designing and launching enterprise applications with agile development methodologies
  • Understanding of building back-end infrastructure using AWS offerings such as Aurora, Lambda, and S3
  • Experience with investment management applications
  • Background in design, economics, or business
