Twilio is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for our Response Engineering team as part of the Platform Response & Reliability Engineering organization. You will help build tooling, define processes, promote standard methodologies, and implement vendor tooling across Twilio to improve our incident response effectiveness. Additionally, you will guide the team in developing tooling and operational capabilities based on real-time signals that enhance our response effectiveness, identify and communicate customer impact, and improve the on-call experience across teams at Twilio.

Twilio is looking for a Staff Software Engineer with a consistent record of success to live the Twilio Magic. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A clear sense of Being an Owner and Wearing the Customer's Shoes with the ability to Empower Others through clear communication, mentoring, and coaching.
  • First-hand experience in incident response and knowledge of standard methodologies for incident response.
  • Skills to define roadmaps and collaborate across multiple global teams, leading development, configuration, deployment, and operations of new tooling.
  • Experience building tooling and processes for large organizations using a variety of languages (Java, Python, and Go).
  • Ability to think at scale, bringing a focus on continuous delivery methodologies from design through deployment and operations.
  • Experience building and managing automations and processes with tools including PagerDuty, Atlassian’s StatusPage, FireHydrant.io, Datadog, Kafka, and more.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE environment.
