We are looking for a Platform Site Reliability Engineer to innovate, win, and grow with us.

This role is available out of an open location within the US

How you’ll contribute:

  • Motivated and able to independently design and implement solutions to support the automation requirements of Bottomline’s delivery pipelines
  • Designing and developing automation that builds systems in private and partner cloud environments, for deploying server- and container-based environments, and be able to act as consultant and mentor to colleagues who will adopt and maintain the automation after it is established
  • Engineering experience, have good verbal and written communication skills, and be capable of effectively imparting knowledge in one-on-one or group settings
  • Work closely at times with all roles who support cloud-based delivery pipelines (Product Developers, DBAs, Networking, Sys Admins, Site Reliability, etc).

What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer science related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with infrastructure automation (infrastructure-as-code) and code deployment technologies
  • Experience introducing open source projects/tools to support delivery of cloud-based services
  • Very comfortable with version control and extensive knowledge of code management best practices
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Go, Bash) and SQL scripting
  • Very comfortable on the Linux OS command line, and some experience MS Windows Server OS
  • Experience with deployment automation of Java application servers (Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat)
  • Experience with web server (Apache, IIS) and SSL Certificate management
  • Understanding of fundamental security principles for network traffic and third-party software
  • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NFS, Windows 2003/2008 domains, TCP/IP, SMTP, IIS, SSL, Internet Infrastructure, and IP informational tools
  • Problem triage/solving skills and ability to work independently in order to solve problems quickly and automate processes
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), documentation and organizational skills
  • Team player and great attitude and work ethic
  • Previous experience in building systems with automation tools
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one configuration management language (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with either Puppet, Docker or Kubernetes
  • Puppet, kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab, ArgoCD, Flux/Weave
  • ELK monitoring (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), Prometheus
  • Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server
  • Oracle, postgreSQL databases

  • AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
