About the Role
As DevOps Engineer you’ll be responsible for the continual delivery of compute, platform and infrastructure services to customers. You’ll also be responsible for the timely action of customer service requests, within the agreed service level agreement (SLA) whilst maintaining accurate and timely updates to technical documentation and ticket notes. All while maintaining excellent relationships and ensuring effective and professional communication with all relevant parties.
You will work closely with our Windows, Linux and Application teams. You will be absolutely focused on automation and will leverage toolsets such as Puppet, Ansible, Bigfix and Python to continually accelerate customer delivery. Your strong expertise with these technologies helps your automation, and you continually look for more areas to automate as you undergo your daily duties.

There is a focus on meeting SLA’s and priority incidents. There is also an element of on call in this role.

What you’ll do
Some of your day to day tasks may include responding and resolving incident, requests and issues raised by customers, and internal teams. You’ll be familiar will and follow ITIL methodologies and best practice. Ensuring systems and infrastructure are available within agreed SLAs. You will work in project sprints to bring new capability to the customer, and continually create content, scripts and documentation to assist your colleagues accelerate delivery by automation.
You will continually iterate, integrate and improve the customer environment. You will look for common areas of interest and automate these to allow the BAU teams more time to focus on our customers. You will have key skills in high availability, disaster recovery, scalability and design and use this to collaborate with your peers to devise, design and implement a continued product roadmap.
What you’ll bring
What does success look like in an exciting role like this? You’ll have 5 years or more experience in a technical role where you will have gained experience and knowledge of Operating Systems (Server & Desktop), an understanding of core automation technologies including, advanced understanding of Server software suites, previous experience in a Type 1 Hypervisors along with understanding of VMware, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. You’ll have a strong understanding of infrastructure applications commonly used across the world. You will have experience with VMware Automation as a platform, as a key skill.
Your problem solving and troubleshooting experience will be strong, having solved incidents (level 2/3) raised by the service desk, assisting end users. You’ll be a clear communicator, including documentation writing and standard operating procedures and your excellent customer focus will be key.
It is essential that you are an Australian citizen to be considered for this role and will need NV1 security clearance. If you do not presently hold a NV1 clearance, you will be willing to undergo that clearance within the first three months.
