How can you join the movement?

We are seeking a result-driven Lead DevOps Engineer with measurable experience in project management. This is a hands-on position that will involve implementing solutions directly as well as leading other team members forward. This is a key role reporting to the Director of Development Operations, and will be instrumental in modernizing our growing team.   The right candidate should be well versed in scoping projects into manageable pieces, and writing or approving appropriate acceptance criteria for each step.  The ideal fit would be someone who thinks about scalability, repeatable processes, redundancy, reliability, and uptime throughout the entire process -- eager to constantly make iterative improvements.

The candidate will preferably come from a SaaS background, understand DevOps best practices, and be adaptable ever changing technology stacks. This engineer is someone who is excited to build new cloud native CI/CD pipelines, and equally excited to migrate legacy systems to the cloud.  A comprehensive understanding of the complete SDLC, and how to integrate security into the entire build and deployment process is strongly desired.    On a given day in this role you may spend time scoping out project requirements with TPMs, architecting solutions, assigning resources appropriately, and then writing terraform to implement solutions yourself.

  • Work with Product to scope out project requirements
  • Work with our Software Architects to design highly available environments in the cloud through IaC and configuration management
  • Lead small to mid-sized projects
  • Develop, maintain, and constantly improve our on premises infrastructure while building next generation infrastructure as code (IaC) for cloud resources
  • Assist in the migration of legacy applications from monolithic architectures to service based containers for scalability, reliability, and quicker deployments
  • Continuously improve the visibility of our stack with enhanced logging, metrics, tracing, and relevant statistics
  • Identify and develop actionable metrics based on Key Performance Indicators relating to application stability, uptime, response, usability, and throughput
  • Share on call responsibilities with other team members to help meet 24/7/365 SLAs
  • Work with agile teams to bring your DevOps expertise across disparate projects and disciplines
  • Write custom terraform, Python, shell, and YAML scripts to automate the entire deployment and build process from staging to production
  • Work closely with the product team to deliver cutting edge functionality as efficiently as possible — leveraging your continually improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment utilities

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, and CI/CD tooling
  • 2+ years working in a software operations production environment, bonus points for SaaS experience
  • 2+ years experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure), bonus points for GCP certifications
  • 2+ years of experience leading small to mid sized projects and teams (1-2  team members, 20-30 point projects)
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum team; cross functional acumen
  • Strong Linux Experience
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) from building to deploying
  • Microservice experience, conceptual understanding of application decoupling
  • Experience with  configuration management utilities (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), bonus points for Terraform expertise
  • Expertise in application monitoring, telemetry gathering, and associated utilities (Nagios, Icinga, DataDog, NewRelic, FluentD, AWS Cloudwatch, GCP Cloud Logging/Stackdriver, etc)
  • Experience with centralized logging pipelines (ELK, AWS Cloudwatch Logs, GCP Stackdriver, etc) and exposure to parsing concepts (GROK filters, Regex)
  • Experience with common CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc)
  • Familiarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Strong networking fundamentals
  • “Automate everything” mindset
  • Passion for building reliable systems
  • Passion for growing engineering teams
  • Candidates must reside in and be able to legally work in the US

  • SaaS experience
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (Fintech, Health Care, Education)
  • GCP expertise and/or certifications
  • Snowflake experience
  • Data Warehouse experience
