The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and creative Software Software Engineer in DevOps to join our growing Engineering Team and take our company and platform to the next level!The Software Engineer will join our growing Engineering Team in order to design and develop frontend and backend services to be used by our clients and partners running in the cloud. This role will have great communication skills working in close collaboration with DevOps and business stakeholders to provide application solutions. They will evaluate the product owner's backlog of requirements to design and develop business solutions using Agile methodology. This role requires knowledge and experience in API best practices to participate in the selection of the most appropriate design, process and method to meet the enterprise and business needs.

What you’ll be doing every day:

  • Build and develop infrastructure as a code in Dev, UAT, Production environments
  • Develop 
  • System administration of multiple virtual/cloud environments and dedicated self-hosted environments
  • Advise and build ETL pipelines as required by different products.
  • Support, fix and update existing applications to improve efficiency and support the growth of extensive software systems.
  • Learn, understand and implement the concepts of Test/Behaviour Driven Development and implement high-quality code according to those concepts
  • Learn and understand the fundamental concepts of the frontend as well as server-side technologies and Restful APIs 
  • Have a passion for learning innovative technologies, e.g., Docker, AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2 and various cloud technologies
  • Support and development of tools supporting deployment, CI/CD and orchestration
  • Monitoring the uptime and performance of the various data systems
  • Lead test automation and load testing deliverables within the team
  • Work with the development team to support, setup and configure environments
  • Establish and maintain security practices for the operation of our data centre environments
  • Establish and maintain internal operational processes
  • Customer solution implementation and operational support
  • Documenting changes to self-hosted environments and deployment procedures
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Customer Experience, and Sales Operations teams to identify and document process improvements and work collaboratively to implement the changes
  • Collaborate with the rest of the development and QA team to help and integrate their work in our CI/CD pipelines

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native solutions (Serverless, DynamoDB, Relational, NoSQL, Kubernetes, Lambda functions, S3, Cloud Storage, other)
  • Strong hands-on experience in Cloud-Native datastores (preferably AWS)
  • Proven experience with building and maintaining ETL pipelines at scale (Python, etc.)
  • Fluent in one or more of the popular software development languages such as (Python, Node.js, Golang, Java, C#) but eager to learn new languages
  •  having experience writing RESTful API endpoints
  • Previous experience with DevOps and CI/CD Pipeline infrastructure as code  
  • Great communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ownership and pride in the quality of the software and infrastructure you work on, and the way that it succeeds in meeting the needs of its users
  • Strong depth of practical experience and knowledge of Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with Linux-based servers
  • Experience with load balancing high available servers and building secure networks (VPN experience is an asset)
  • Experience with logging and monitoring solutions: datadog, Cloud watch, Newrelic, etc.

Ideally, you also have experience with some of:

  • AWS, Glue, Data Pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, New Relic
  • Jenkins, CodeBuild, Terraform, Helm Charts
  • Microservices, RESTful APIs, JSON, Kafka
  • AWS Certifications including  “AWS Certified Solutions Architect” and “AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty”
