Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

In this role you will work with hardware dev, software dev, test, and firmware teams, both remotely and in a lab setting, to develop the automated test framwork for the Kuiper satellite.

We are looking for an outstanding engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. As a Senior Software Engineer you will build solutions that enable the complex engineering, manufacturing and test processes required for satellite development, integration, and test. You will be expected to drive a variety of software infrastructure efforts, from traditional software build/test/deploy systems to spacecraft-scale hardware-in-the-loop simulation/test. You will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the design, architecture and implementation of critical systems within Project Kuiper.

As a key member of the team, you will be support identification of top level requirements and participate in all phases of software development, from concept and design to development and maintenance. You must be comfortable supporting software and architecture design reviews, ensuring Amazon’s high development standards are met and contribute to team best practices. You will be expected to work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Basic Qualifications


• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of developing cloud-based services, data pipelines, and analysis/reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with automated build/test/deployment systems that support embedded SW/HW systems at scale
• Expert level knowledge of at least one high-level modern language, such as Java, Go, or C#, and scripting languages such as Python or Ruby
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and simulation environments
• Experience managing software in a hybrid cloud/on-premise environment
• Experience developing scalable software using AWS services and applying AWS best practices
• Experience contributing to the designs and architectures of new and existing software systems, including design patterns, reliability, test strategy and scaling
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
