Vinted is Europe’s biggest preloved fashion marketplace, with 37 million members in 13 countries. Our mission is green: we want to make second-hand the first choice globally.
A team of over 600 people across Vinted’s offices in Vilnius, Berlin, Utrecht and Prague develop and support our platform. We share a unique work culture that’s based on aiming high, taking ownership, co-creating, caring, and growth.
We're looking for a full-time DevOps Engineer to strengthen the Utrecht office for our newly-boosted team. From our office in Utrecht, we’re exploring opportunities for our expansion plans beyond Europe.
You’ll be the very first member of a new DevOps team. The DevOps team will cover a broad set of responsibilities, the most important are: automation, infrastructure, observability, security, availability and reliability.
Recently the backend team started to move from AWS ECS to Kubernetes and initial efforts were made to define all infrastructure as code. Your challenge is to continue and complete these projects and ensure a decent GitOps flow is in place for all infrastructure and services. Additionally, new scalability and reliability challenges will rise from the growing number of active users.

In this position, you’ll:

  • Work in a team and shape the features to make our members’ life better
  • Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work
  • Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews
  • Make a direct impact on the success of the platform. We deploy many times per day
  • Ensure availability of a platform used by millions of users
  • Implement automations and good security practices throughout the infrastructure and everywhere in the pipeline from writing code to having applications deployed
  • Ensure good observability (e.g. using Prometheus and Grafana) of all metrics that are important for smooth operation of our infrastructure
  • Tackle scalability issues (horizontal scaling of stateless services, vertical scaling and/or sharding of MySQL databases, identifying bottlenecks, help implementing missing/required cache layers, etcetera)

About you:

  • You should be willing to learn and master new technologies and concepts
  • You have experience managing highly available infrastructure
  • You have experience with most of our tool stack, including: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, Prometheus. Good to have: Golang
  • You know what it takes to have a secure platform and how to monitor it
  • You like to automate processes wherever it adds value

Work perks:

  • Opportunity to join our stock options programme
  • Learning budget (10% from gross yearly salary)
  • 25 working days of holiday
  • Monthly team-building events
  • Remote workout classes
  • A personal budget for shopping on Vinted
If this sounds interesting – you may well be just who we need. If you’re interested, contact us and we will be in touch with you.
