Your Role and Responsibilities

Your expertise in delivering deployment, automation and multi-cloud management technologies on OpenShift and virtualized cloud environments will enable you to lead the architecture of the infrastructure management components of our next generation, AI-infused hybrid cloud management product. Following our open core strategy, you will be an expert on developing open-source software and work as a community leader and lead architect in the ManageIQ community.

A hands-on technical expert who will contribute to the development of the product and retain the respect of your team through your technical eminence, you will be a leader in the open-source community and exemplify the open-source ethos in your work and mentoring.

  • Work closely with Offering Management, Distinguished Engineers, Senior Technical Staff Members, and other Development leaders on product technical strategy pertaining to infrastructure management and optimization

  • Communicate architectural design and decisions to the entire development organization through regular meetings or information sharing

  • Lead and mentor development squads, senior developers and other technical contributors across your organization which will include global teams working in a fast paced, agile, DevOps environment

  • Seek out opportunities to directly help clients and other IBMers to effectively use our products and learn from their experiences, proposing innovative solutions to novel technical problems you encounter

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 10+ years experience as a lead architect developing cloud management software in a leading enterprise technology company and leading a global team with at least 100 developers

  • 5+ years experience working closely with customers, including deployment recommendations and resolving issues encountered, presenting to executives, and delivering training to developers and users

  • Deep expertise on infrastructure management technologies, including traditional (VMs), containers (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and cloud services

  • Deep expertise in open-source community development having attained committer or project management team status in at least one high profile open-source project

  • Expertise in Ruby on Rails development in large scale projects

  • Expertise in SQL

  • Expertise in unit testing frameworks

  • Expertise in distributed version control systems

  • Expertise and status in the ManageIQ community

  • Hands-on development experience in Golang and C++

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Expertise in RSpec and Git
