Your Role and Responsibilities
The Account Network SRE is an integral part of the larger account team servicing the customer. This senior position has responsibility for the network and data centre topologies and a deep understanding of how enterprise IT and connectivity should be designed along with best practices; including a wide range of design activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification.

A broad hands on experience and knowledge of server, storage and data centre connectivity is required along with real experience working with customer network devices, cables, ports and all the configuration requirements to implement, run, refresh network LAN, WAN and SDWAN architectures.

The Account Network SRE is responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution.

This seasoned professional will be accountable for steady state, project work, troubleshooting situations and identifying potential opportunity areas to expand scope. Building out strong and credible relationships with the customer and being responsive to needs as well as supporting the IBM internal delivery teams is a key aspect of the Account Networks SRE role. The Account Network SRE has significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures, as well as broad knowledge of new technologies.
o Be responsible for overall Network Technical Specifications for the Tower Providers based on the Business Requirements and will provide leadership on enterprise design and review of Tower Provider designs, identifying interoperability requirements across multiple towers. The customer will retain final approval of the Business Requirements to which the Network Technical Specifications are to conform and the responsibility for business approval of the Network Technical Specification (“Acceptance”).
o Provide integrated solution design to encompass the requirements related to the network environment for both standalone solutions as well as a component of an overall IT solution. Requirements gathering, requirements validation and IT sponsor feedback throughout the solution process will be completed to achieve optimum solution design results.
o Establish design criteria that adhere to established network policies and strategy.
o Identify Tower Provider relationships and dependencies, including clarification of architectural requirements and constraints for each of the individual network Tower Provider solutions.
o Guide the individual Tower Providers to support the adherence of their detailed solution designs to the target Network architecture, policy and strategy. Verify that the individual Tower Providers’ detailed solution designs conform to the target Network architecture, policy and strategy
o Concentrate on the development and design of Network Services that support the business requirements of the client; including public, private and hybrid Cloud and Hybrid environments with integrated service assurance with a key and primary focus on Red Hat openshift and kubernetes services (ROKS solutions)
o Design and support capabilities such as: network function virtualization, WAN/LAN, data centre, networks, network security, ANPO, automated service chaining and software defined networks (SDN)/Networks as a programmable service including cloud monitoring
o Develop technical solutions that include the evaluation and selection of the software, hardware and services required to meet the client's immediate and long-term requirements
o Provide recommendations and guidance for best practices in the Network specialty with the use of reference architectures and service product assets to develop conceptual and detailed designs. Build performance, security, availability and scalability in solutions that favourably impact the client's infrastructure.
o Knowledge and application of Networking protocols including: Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Routing (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), LAN Switching (VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel, CoS, wireless), WAN (MPLS, MPLS/VPN,MP-BGP), TCP/IP protocol suite
o Demonstrate understanding of potential Application Protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL ), Network Security Protocols (IPSec VPN, AAA Architecture, TACACS+, RADIUS). Application Load Balancers. Appropriate Certifications include: CCAr, CCDE, CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, JNCP, JNCIE, JNCIP, JNCIS, JNCIA, VMWare NSX, Riverbed
o Technical experience in designing and implementing cloud based network solutions -prefer IBM Cloud and Azure
o Design and Support Private Cloud network, CISCO Nexus Switches, WAN connectivity, F5 GTM/LTM, Firewalls, IPS devices, SAN/Storage and backup switches.

F5 application content delivery. (4+ yrs).
BlueCat IPAM administration. (2+ yrs).
Solarwinds monitoring and analysis. (2+ yrs)..
Fluent in English.
CCNP Data Center.
