At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.

Your Role and Responsibilities
The CIO organization within IBM is currently seeking a Test Automation Engineer with strong motivation and experience working in an environment that supports - and enables the transition of - critical commerce applications which are moving from monolithic servers to Cloud-based microservices. This technical position in the US Distributed Software Commerce (DSWC) Platform squad will drive transformation of support and enablement for business-critical applications through automation of manual maintenance and business processes, evolution of monitoring and alerting schemes, and support of DevOps pipelines that deliver iterations of these applications.

As a Test Automation Engineer you will work to build and enhance our support model to allow for verification of system functions and continuous monitoring/alerting. You will be part of the team that supports on-premises and cloud-based applications, while participating on projects associated with infrastructure management, system administration, system monitoring, making improvements to development environments, application load testing, and continuously improving our automation efforts.

This position will serve as an integral part of the change currently underway to drive more system management automation and state-of-the-art alerting for a wide range of critical Commerce components, focused on moving applications to automated controls and follow-the-sun 24x7 Support models with a sister squad in Asia Pacific. The broader mission will be to deliver a model which will serve as a showcase of IBM's engineering management of complex commerce-supporting applications hosted in the Cloud.

This is an important technical role that will require participation in an evolving culture, designed to deliver automation solutions continually, in a fast-paced engineering support environment. In this fast paced and expanding organization, we foster an environment of continuous innovation and working in Agile teams. We are co-located in RTP, NC but maintain a responsible consideration of health and safety practices - which includes ongoing support for an in-office/remote office balance during these unusual times.
