The Position
AWS is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial, Planning, and Analysis (FP&A) team within AWS Infrastructure Finance that is responsible for segment reporting. In this role you will help manage the process for assigning Infrastructure costs, which drives our overall segment reporting. You will help drive initiatives to improve the quality and timeliness of business insights provided to AWS leadership, including ongoing automation efforts and overall process improvement. You will help manage operational planning and month end close processes including providing analytical support to senior management.

The successful candidate possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, a structured approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
· Liaise across the AWS finance community to help drive core financial processes including annual operating plans and month-end close
· Collaborate with teams to simplify, standardize, and automate segment reporting processes and analytics
· Communicate financial metrics and business drivers to senior management
· Partner with the TM1 systems team to implement enhancements to the cost assignment process
· Ensure compliance with finance and accounting controls and systems
· Help drive special projects, working cross-functionally with other AWS teams

Basic Qualifications


· BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years of finance experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications


· CPA, CFA, MBA preferred.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL, Cognos/TM1 skills, and ability to learn proprietary Amazon systems.
· Strong financial acumen including accounting knowledge and experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
· An eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate both finance and operational processes.
· Comfort with ambiguity.
· Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
· Experience working with and presenting to senior executives.
