This role is on the AWS Infrastructure team. We provide end-to-end financial support driving AWS to be the low cost provider in Cloud computing and leader in customer experience. This includes supporting business owners in building, operating and innovating our Cloud datacenters. We support operations, business development, engineering, and networking. You should be passionate about producing financial analysis enabling management to make breakthrough decisions, drive cash flow, and ultimately delight our customers.
Specifically, we are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Backbone Fiber & Transit Finance team to provide finance support for Peering & Transit network connectivity businesses. The business is responsible for designing and building connectivity solutions for our intra/inter-region connectivity for our Data Center Networks, Backbone, Border, and edge colo sites. This opportunity supports our inter-region connectivity solutions through fact based analytics. Serve as the key business partner to define key financial and operational metrics, drive cost savings initiatives, and simplify processes.

The Backbone Fiber & Transit Finance team is responsible for delivery of network bandwidth services to provide our customer global connectivity with low cost, low latency, and the best customer experience possible.

Key responsibilities in this role include:
· Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations
· Partner with the networking telecom team and manage the financial planning and analysis effort and forecast various metrics for financial risks and opportunities
· Report on the financial performance and lead in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial reviews
· Develop key business metrics, and ad hoc business analysis and present recommendations to AWS senior management
· Monitoring compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes and controls to support the fast-growing, global AWS business
· Partner with procurement, supply chain and project management teams to drive costs out through negotiations and strategy
· Drive cost savings by identifying in-sourcing opportunities and bench-marking across vendors and locales
· Implement long-term forecasting models






Basic Qualifications


· Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
· 3+ years of relevant finance experience

Preferred Qualifications


· Advanced analytical and business sense and a keen attention to detail
· A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectation
· Ability to work well with cross functional teams and present ideas to a group of senior level managers
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment
· Advanced knowledge of Excel
· Experience in TM1 and SQL a plus
· MBA preferred
