Your Role and Responsibilities
How can we effectively design and deliver for a large scale, highly distributed cloud infrastructure? We are looking for a leader who will manage a team that is responsible for our systems and service level monitoring. The job provides the leadership opportunity to be the voice of a team that will be delivering critical information to make day to day decisions
Your Role and Responsibilities
Lead a team of engineers in design, development, and implementation of system and service level monitoring for our cloud infrastructure
Partner with other teams, functional managers, and program managers to discern their needs from the monitoring platform
Manage team priorities, effectively communicate the status of committed projects
Develop new and enhance existing capabilities for our monitoring solution
Identify gaps in monitoring and create project plans to remediate
Lead by example; mentor, coach, motivate and develop team members to enable them to achieve their full potential
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure design, engineering, and support
10+ years of experience in IT Change, Incident, Problem, Asset management
5+ years of experience in managing a team of software and operations engineers
5+ years of experience of team coaching and leadership
Working knowledge with Linux and Windows based systems
Working knowledge with one or more hypervisors: Citrix Hypervisor, VMware vSphere, KVM, etc.
Working knowledge with one or more programming tools: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go, and Ruby
Working knowledge with one or more key infrastructure tools/products: Active Directory, Ansible, Chef, SaltStack etc.
Working knowledge with Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, etc; Monitoring technologies: Zabbix, Splunk, etc; Network and Storage technologies; ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluent, and GitHub
ITIL Foundation V4 certification is a plus
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly responsible, motivated, able to work with little direction
Experience with design and development of complex systems
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and customer issues.
