The incumbent in this position will be responsible for building test automation scripts from inception, testing client-side APIs, rich user interfaces and client applications using industry best practices. The test engineer will also work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of product managers, UX designers, architects, principal engineers, software engineers, automation engineers, release engineers and operations. The position will help improve test coverage and project turnaround times. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Executes CMS platform testing across multiple devices ensuring overall web compliance and browser compatibility.
  • Designs and develops tests; including automation scripts where appropriate, from the ground up into a continuous integration and execution model.
  • Defines test strategy, create test plans, test cases, and automation for applications for new features and enhancements to existing features.
  • Establishes a set of smoke and regression tests for multiple applications that can run in a CI/CD environment, potentially across various devices.
  • Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Collaborates with the Customer Support team or Enterprise Support Center to understand common issues and incorporate them into new test scenarios.
  • Coordinates with the scrum team and development counterparts in overseeing bug tracking, test prioritization, test automation and release. 

What we look for:

  • Experience with web content management platforms (AEM preferred).
  • Experience with marketing technologies and tools including campaigns, analytics and A/B testing.
  • Experience with web site design analysis, testing and maintenance.
  • Experience with build, release and deployment practices.
  • Experience with web accessibility, screen readers and WCAG 2.0 standards.
  • Good understanding of web-development technologies, including SQL, HTML, CSS, JS, XML, HTTP protocol, JSON; debugging tools like Postman, Firebug, and IE developer tools.
  • Knowledge and prior experience with Scrum, Agile Methodology.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of Experience in the Information Services field, focusing on Quality Assurance processes methodologies.
  • Experience using test frameworks in a CI/CD environment (Jenkins, Chef).
  • JavaScript, Python, C# or Java development experience.
  • Experience in at least one of the API/Unit test automation frameworks: Viz, JUnit, TestNG, HTTPUnit and HTMLUnit.
  • Experience building tests for web-based applications, experience using open source frameworks like Protractor and NodeJS for rich UI applications is a plus.
  • Experience developing automation for thick-client applications.
  • Experience with major software test automation tools such as Selenium, HP QuickTest or Rational Functional Tester is required.
  • Experience in using various defect tracking, source control and build release tools, like JIRA, GIT and Jenkins.
  • Additional experience considered a plus: Healthcare/Dental Insurance domain knowledge, exposure with other CMS and portal technologies such as Drupal or Liferay, web services, and security software.
