The Role:

  • Being a hands-on contributor is a key responsibility in this role
  • Being able to write clean, modular, scalable, and quality software is mandatory in this role
  • Design, develop, maintain, and scale Coupa’s CI Infrastructure and Internal Tools
  • Continuously improve and expand our tooling to support our rapidly expanding platform
  • Actively participate in operational design and code review
  • Architect and develop one or more major areas of the Coupa platform
  • Find creative, elegant and maintainable solutions to complex problems
  • A good team player, works, and communicates well with others
  • Advocate best practices (unit/automation testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.)
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process and business
  • Contribute to the development and enhancements of our CI/CD pipeline infrastructure/tools

What you will do:


  • WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL:
  • Complete the onboarding program
  • Get familiar with the people within and across teams
  • Get a good understanding of Coupa product and different functional areas
  • Learn the basics of programming in Ruby and Go
  • Learn about our Tech Stack, development and release processes
  • Understand unit/automation testing and get introduced to CI/CD pipeline infrastructure/tools
  • Dive into technology by pair-programming with your teammates and attending engineering training sessions designed and presented by your peers
  • You'll also positively contribute to your team's processes and knowledge

  • WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL:
  • Learn about micro-services and tools supporting the Coupa platform
  • Learn about the tools/technologies used in our Build Infrastructure, and start contributing
  • Learn about Cloud-Based Service Providers like AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Start contributing to the design, development and deployment of tools and services
  • Participate in Design sponsor review sessions within the team

  • WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LL:
  • Participate in release and sprint planning
  • Learn about best practices and security aspects to strengthen your base for building complex solutions
  • Start working with the team on feature design and development for a release, and learn how to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to resolving production escalations while learning about debugging, monitoring and alerting tools
  • Contribute to design reviews

  • WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LL:
  • Become a core member of the team to provide guidance on the CI/CD pipeline
  • Continuously improve and expand our tooling to support our rapidly expanding platform
  • Assist the team with building a scalable and maintainable solution for our Build Infrastructure and other Platform areas
  • Contribute to product and process improvements by evaluating technologies and approaches
  • Build solutions to help improve product security, scalability, high availability and concurrency
  • Work with the team on brainstorming product Roadmap
  • Contribute to release planning for the team
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring to influence team growth and embody Coupa core values in day to day work
