Momentive's Global IT team is looking for an AWS and Azure architect professional who is a cloud enthusiast with a passion for elastic workloads and server-less frameworks. You will report directly to the VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations.

What we're looking for

Momentive's Global IT team is looking for an AWS and Azure architect professional who is a cloud enthusiast with a passion for elastic workloads and server-less frameworks. With your expertise in cloud computing, you will grow the Global IT AWS and Azure platforms for Momentive. You will architect and build AWS/Azure-native systems, wrangle cloud systems' complexity, and ensure that security best practices are followed when delivering AWS/Azure infrastructure to the Global IT organization. You will also weigh the pros and cons of using IaaS services versus PaaS and other managed services when designing and recommending solutions.

You will

You are expected to be an expert on AWS and Azure services, tools, and best practices. You will answer questions on several cloud-native technologies and cloud services, and you will provide recommendations on what service to use and when. As such, you have experience with the varied AWS services, their limitations and alternate (non-AWS) solutions that might serve better in particular situations. CI/CD : We are looking for deep involvement in continuous delivery automation, and the integration of cloud-native services to create functioning, cohesive delivery pipelines. Your set of skills should include tools and systems like:

  • CI/CD suites such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI or GitLab CI
  • Source control management such as GitHub and GitLab
  • AWS build tools including: AWS CodeArtifact, , AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeDeploy

Observability : You will ensure that an application and the systems it runs on implement appropriate monitoring, logging and alerting solutions. Your experience should include:

  • Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS X-Ray, Azure Monitor
  • Amazon SNS, Nagios
  • Elasticsearch, Kibana

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : You will provision cloud infrastructure in an automated manner using tools such as:

  • Terraform
  • AWS CloudFormation, AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM), AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit)
  • Azure CLI, Azure Service Bus, ARM Templates

Containerization & Orchestration : You have experience building containers and automating container orchestration—deployment, management, and scaling, using tools such as:

  • Docker
  • Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Amazon ECS/EKS, Fargate, AWS ECR
  • Azure Container Registry

Database : You will need knowledge in provisioning, monitoring and querying:

  • Relational data stores: MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL on AWS RDS
  • NoSQL data stores: MongoDB, AWS DynamoDB
  • Data warehouse: Amazon Redshift
  • Amazon RDS Proxy

Automation : In-depth programming experience is required for implementing solution POCs and the automation of solution resiliency validation and verification. You can use:

  • Bash, Python, Powershell
  • AWS Lambda
  • AWS CLI/API

Security : You will help build technical security implementation, and enforcement of compliance and security guideline. You have passion for cloud services, and deep interest in cybersecurity architecture and information security technologies. Required skills include:

  • Azure Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • AWS Control Tower
  • Identity management, federated security and SSO
  • Secrets management: Vault, AWS KMS, Secrets Manager
  • Knowledge of Security Hub, GuardDuty and AWS Config

You have

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design & implementation of distributed applications
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in available architecture and solution implementation on AWS and on-prem data centers
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience architecting and delivering AWS solutions
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with industry patterns, methodologies, and techniques across the disaster recovery discipline
  • Proficient in authoring, editing, and presenting technical documents.
