Key job responsibilities
AWS Infrastructure Finance is seeking a L5 Financial Analyst to support our long-range component procurement strategy and planning. This analyst will work closely with the various business partners and stakeholders including procurement teams, long-range planning teams, services finance teams, and forecasting teams. This role will oversee compute and storage related capex forecasting, inventory optimization, holding costs, excess and obsolescence costing, off-balance sheet liability, and risk assessment. The candidate will work with big data transforming it into insights and information.

A day in the life
The successful candidate will work across teams and manage reporting, in-year forecasting, variance analysis, and spend approvals. This role also interacts with VP level business and finance leaders across Amazon, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills. This role also presents opportunities to expand scope and coverage across the AWS procurement and planning organization.

Basic Qualifications


· 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
· BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or similar discipline with analytical bias
· 3+ years’ relevant experience in positions that require analysis, reporting financial results, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results
· 2+ years’ experience performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications

· MBA + relevant experience
Previous experience in FP&A
· Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis
· Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
