The Team:

The Product Design team works on embedded product teams, collaborating closely with PMs and engineers on major product area. Product Design is its own department, independent from engineering or product management. We’re full-stack designers, owning all aspects of our work from research, prototyping, polish, and visual design—and we collaborate closely with engineers on implementation. We work closely together on shared design challenges, and collaborate with our DesignOps team to develop our design system and tooling.


The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Manager to lead and grow the teams designing our infrastructure monitoring products—our largest and most widely used product area. We design tools that give engineers access to real-time data about their hosts, containers, functions and more to troubleshoot problems and improve performance. The infrastructure product area includes advanced data visualizations and analytics, and the designers working on it develop a deep understanding of cloud services and tools like AWS, Azure and GCP.

As a Manager, you’ll lead and grow talented teams of designers, and help ensure the right balance of skills and sub-disciplines on your design teams through mentorship and hiring. You’ll help define new products, lay the groundwork for new and exciting experiences, and help scale the design org with new systems and processes.


You Will:

  • Manage both managers and individual contributors, growing teams of exceptional designers and ensuring they deliver high quality, timely work and that they’re happy, motivated, and growing
  • Ensure the right balance of skills and sub-disciplines on your design teams through mentorship and hiring
  • Support and improve the work of your team with regular design reviews and collaboration sessions
  • Own your team’s priorities, planning and execution, connecting them to larger business and product priorities
  • Work with the product team to plan the future of the product
  • Work with other managers across the company to deliver cross-cutting projects
  • Contribute to shaping the future of the design organization


You Are:

  • At least 3 years of experience managing teams of product designers
  • At least 8 years of experience designing digital products
  • You have prior experience working on SaaS products
  • You have prior experience working with design systems at scale
  • Your portfolio includes a proven track record shipping product design work for web applications
  • Your management experience includes OKR planning and feature prioritization
  • You give and receive feedback well, and support and improve the work of your colleagues
  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a related design field or equivalent experience
  • You want to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment


Bonus Points:

  • You have worked on technical products and data visualizations
  • You have designed enterprise software and/or developer tools
  • You understand cloud infrastructure and have experience with platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
