Olive is searching for experienced engineers to provide technical leadership and guidance as we build our technology platform. Software Engineers within Olive Graph work with the Olive Product Management team to deliver value in our Olive Graph . We encourage a growth mindset amongst all of our engineers and value those with the drive to be continuously expanding industry knowledge. A successful Technical Lead will possess strong analytical as well as technical skills, and have the ability to communicate the logic behind technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):

  • Actively participate in and lead design and architecture for assigned projects including design reviews and code reviews.
  • Own your technical stories and assignments- from writing code, clarifying requirements, meeting project timelines, and delivering high-quality, workable features.
  • Help maintain and contribute to the collaborative Engineering culture.
  • Foster proactive and cooperative relationships within the project team.
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Analyze applications and make the necessary changes to optimize performance.
  • Update and modify existing applications when bug fixes are identified.
  • Embrace changing requirements.
  • Mentor and lead other engineers and help them adhere to our best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with various SQL and NoSQL databases
  • History of designing and delivering software solutions to real world problems across a variety of technology stacks and programming languages
  • Experience in the development of highly maintainable and reliable code using practices such as unit testing, integration testing, proper code documentation, and appropriate logging
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamentals engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of software and application design and architecture
  • 8+ years of relevant programming experience, with a preference for
    • NodeJS, Java, Python, Go or similar languages
    • Multiple AWS services like SNS, Lambda, SQS, S3, Secrets Manager etc.
    • Build and Release pipelines
    • Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
    • Knowledge of graph databases (Labeled Property or RDF) and SPARQL is a plus
  • Experience writing and reviewing detailed Technical Design Documents (TDDs) is a plus
