Do you want to automate and monitor all-the-things? 
We are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our Berlin studio to build highly scalable and reliable systems, tools and tech infrastructure that enables the operation of games that are beloved by millions of players. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be an advocate for automation, scalability and robustness. You will take ownership of release engineering, backend deployment and monitoring and the administration of our server infrastructures running in AWS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of initiatives to improve our game backend deployment tools and processes. Work with our local and international teams and integrate the Berlin games with Jam City Live, our in house technology that enables world class game operations and live ops. 
  • Manage the game client release engineering, i.e. building, testing and deployment in collaboration with the development teams. 
  • Implement best practices for monitoring and alerting to allow our teams to respond to any issues swiftly. 
  • Create smart automation and tools for manual and error prone tasks, for example, in areas of QA, customer support or game operation.
  • Develop code that is performant, secure, easy to maintain by others and works as intended.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
  • Strong familiarity working with AWS including ‘serveless’ components such as DynamoDB and Lambda. Experience managing cloud services at scale.
  • Skilled with configuring and managing CI systems such as Jenkins. 
  • Knowledgeable with Linux and MacOS system administration.
  • Experience with SQL and nonrelational databases  (we use DynamoDB, Redis).
  • Distributed systems programming experience (we use nodeJS, Groovy and Python).

NICE TO HAVE

  • AWS certificates
  • Game development or Google Cloud Platform skills also their API
  • Experience with Websockets or other server push models, Search Engines, Graph Databases
  • Has worked in a team with experience in large-scale, high-performance distributed software.
  • Has experience in the mobile gaming, video game industry.
  • Has experience with real-time multiplayer features and their networking requirements.
  • Familiarity with Docker and CloudFront
  • X-Ray and EC2.
