The Opportunity –  Manager, Global IT Infrastructure

Reporting to the Director, Global IT Services, we are seeking a Manager of IT Infrastructure to lead the internal IT team. You will lead and develop a team of IT professionals and be responsible for the growth, resourcing, maintenance, security and performance of IT systems at FreshBooks.

You will be reporting to the Director of IT and will work closely to support internal teams at FreshBooks. You are a driven individual, with expertise in running corporate operations from an IT standpoint. You will be bridging the gap between technical, creative and business needs to confidently distill technical issues and provide solutions to senior leadership and partners.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the strategic vision and roadmap for IT services and support at FreshBooks
  • Leading and maintaining the implementation of operational efficiencies and continuous improvement in productivity, processes, and communication
  • Successfully managing the team, working collaboratively across the organization, delivering high quality and cost-effective day-to-day operations
  • Setting the service standards, procedures, and tools for operational and project management practices to ensure high quality service for our customers and -internal partners
  • Maintaining the overall demand profile, looking for low utilization, more optimal usage patterns, or deployment options
  • Building, maintaining and optimizing dashboards to get the best analytical view of data for cost, demand, and capacity planning
  • Establishing clear and consistent reporting and communication methods for all project activities
  • You will be also presenting reports on usage and optimization of cost
  • Drive continuous improvement by monitoring and evaluating infrastructure metrics and identifying the need for process enhancements
  • Liaising with Senior Leadership and C-Level executives to execute the IT strategy
  • Work closely with the Director, Information Security to ensure alignment and best practices are applied to infrastructure
  • Oversight of typical maintenance activities including patching, backups, monitoring, asset management, incident management and root cause analysis.

You will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure where you have demonstrated administration of network and infrastructure
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure where you have demonstrated operational project management expertise
  • Experience in administrating Enterprise Systems such as Google Workspace, Okta and Slack
  • Experience in administrating Enterprise Integration platforms such as Dell Boomi and integrating SaaS applications
  • Demonstrated Implementation experience in rolling out systems, applications and updates
  • Experience managing and deploying a Global Patch Management Program
  • Experience in managing firewalls, routers, switches, VPN and other networking components
  • Knowledge of VOIP and call center technologies
  • Detailed experience with M365, Azure, GCP
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into tactical and technical requirements for teams to execute
  • Experience and knowledge with Agile practices, with the ability to translate principles
  • Managed end-to-end program management from proposal to solution delivery, business adoption, and post implementation support
  • You can prioritize multiple projects and meet partner needs in a timely manner.
