Join SADA as a Pre-Sales Cloud Engineer!

Your Mission 

As a Pre-Sales Cloud Engineer at SADA, you will work collaboratively with other architects and engineers to design, prototype, and inspire customers into Google Cloud services and properties. You will partner directly with sales teams, Google, and customers to qualify potential engagements, craft robust proposals, and deliver proposals plus contracts on which engineering teams can successfully execute.  You are hands-on, able to conduct experiments, and build functioning prototypes that prove out ideas and build confidence in the solutions you advocate. 

You will also direct early-stage opportunity/technical objectives calls and requests, as well as assist and potentially head client-facing technical discussions.

#BeAChangeAgent: You think out in front of our delivery organization, meeting with the spectrum of internal stakeholders and both small and large customers that need our consultative services. You will have your finger on the pulse of their technical needs and take pride in helping them solve their real-world problems in Google Cloud. 

As you continue to execute successfully, we will build a customized development plan together that takes you through laddering into senior levels, solution architecture, or management growth tracks. 

Expectations

Required Travel - Please expect about 30% travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel has (of course) been temporarily restricted.

Customer Facing - You will interact with customers on a regular basis, often daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly.  Common touch points occur when qualifying potential opportunities, throughout the sales motions, and periodically through the lifecycle of a customer account. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives.

Training - Ongoing with first-week orientation at HQ followed by an extended onboarding and uplevelling training schedule.  Details of the timeline can be shared. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all onboarding will be temporarily conducted remotely.

Job Requirements

Preferred Credentials:

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Understanding of the “Cloud,” what its value is, and its potential inside of corporations
  • Demonstrable familiarity with any of the following:
    • Infrastructure Modernization: migrating workloads from on-premises and other clouds to Google Cloud
    • Application Development: building custom web and mobile applications on top of modern application stacks
    • Data Engineering: data schema, databases either relational or otherwise, data preparation, and the variety of data storage options
  • Experience assisting or conducting technical design sessions, architecting, and documenting technical solutions that are aligned with client business goals, and identifying gaps between the client's current and desired end states
  • Experience strategizing, designing, architecting, or leading the deployment of scalable solutions
  • Experience in modern scaled cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, IBM, Alibaba, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience working with engineering and sales teams to elicit customer goals
  • Ability to communicate across business units and the ability to interface with and communicate technical concepts to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple streams
  • Experience as a technical consultant or another customer-facing technical role
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and techniques with a desire to grow, learn, and self-develop
  • Ability to guide an in-depth client meeting/workshop across a broad range of topics including discovery, cloud compliance, and security
  • Understanding of technical practices, design patterns, reference implementations with an ability to build and recommend these as needed
  • Knowledge and tracking of industry trends, new technologies, and the ability to apply these to customer architectures to drive outcomes
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
