Bottomline is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the growing Banking Solutions engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in quality initiatives effort of market leading Digital Banking IQ platform.  The team uses agile scrum-based development processes and is looking for an experienced test automation engineer to support manual and automation tasks for the sprint commitments.

This position can be based out of a remote location within the US East Coast time zone

How You'll Contribute:

  • Development and maintenance of Automated Tests, Automation test frameworks, and author feature files
  • Work as a senior quality assurance engineer
  • Work with team members and product owners to groom user stories such that they have testable success criteria
  • Review and Analysis of Functional Specifications and/or related documentation
  • Writing of test scenarios in Gherkin language - Business Readable Domain Specific Language. (Functional, End-to-End workflow)
  • Support release commitments and odd hour deployments
  • Mentor junior Quality Assurance Engineers
  • Development of automated test scripts which readily and clearly identify variations from expected results
  • Work closely with developers and product owners on the scrum team to triage and prioritize defects till resolutions
  • Assist developers and QA engineers in the ownership, creation and consumption of automated tests
  • Lead from where you are mentality 

What Will Make You Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent 
  • 5+ years’ experience within a Manual QA testing environment
  • 2+ years’ experience with automated testing tools
  • Hands-on experience in software development with focus on Behavior Driven Development.
  • Strong experience working in agile scrum-based development methodology.
  • Ability to translate user stories and acceptance criteria in to feature files using Gherkin language.
  • Strong experience working with Selenium WebDriver, preferably with Java
  • Strong experience working with Jenkins.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies that enable behavior driven development automation preferably using cucumber BDD with java.
  • Hands-on experience with performance/load testing tools like JMeter or Neoload will be a huge plus.
  • Ability to perform automated testing against both web application UI and RESTful service endpoints.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database and ability to read, write and analyze SQL queries preferably with MS SQL
  • Strong experience using tools like SOAP UI and postman to test API endpoints.
  • The ability to estimate effort, make and meet commitments is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to own and self-manage daily tasks

Preferred Skills:

  • ISTQB Certification
  • Cucumber BDD Experience
  • Working knowledge and experience with JIRA, Confluence and Git
  • Working with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deployment and configuration of J2EE applications in app servers such as Wildfly
  • Experience as a Scrum Master is a plus
  • Experience with application security testing
  • Experience in financial services
