At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical cloud computing architects to help our customers and partners on key engagements. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of new Professional Services offerings within our container services that include: Amazon Elastic Container Service, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, AWS Fargate, Amazon Elastic Container Registry, and AWS App Mesh. AWS has become the #1 place for you to run containers with 80% of all containers in the cloud run on AWS.

We are looking for experienced and motivated technologists with a passion for solving complex business challenges, defining and building best practices focused on cloud native architectures. Within this role, you will be responsible for building and leading new offerings that help customers understand how to improve their businesses using the container orchestration services provided by AWS.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed.

Basic Qualifications

· BA/BS degree or 10+ years of professional or military experience
· 10+ years of IT implementation experience
· Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical / architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
· 2+ years design/implementation/deployment experience of advanced Containerized solutions
· 2+ years design/implementation/deployment experience of Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

· Strong deployment and operations of workloads on AWS using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), AWS Fargate, Kubernetes or others.
· Strong exposure to and experience in operating container clusters with ECS, Kubernetes, Docker and others
· Leading highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
· Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell)
· Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
· Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical / architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
· Strong written communication skills
· High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $122,300 per year. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
