Position                            Oracle Database Administrator III     Company                            Rackspace US, Inc.                          Job site address               1 Fanatical Place, City of Windcrest, San Antonio, TX 78218 QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in software development, database programming, computer engineering or related technical fieldMinimum 5 years of experience with Oracle 11g, 12c as an Oracle Database AdministrationAny experience with all of the following: ·         On-Call 24x7 production DBA support;·         Restore and duplicate using RMAN; Refresh using Datapump; ·         Performance optimization and space management on Linux in a very large-scale database environment and mission-critical large OLTP and OLAP systems; ·         Perform capacity planning including CPU utilization, Memory, process and space management; ·         Experience with database patches, upgrades and migrations strategies with minimum down time; ·         Implement, configuring replication technology using Oracle Data Guard, active Data Guard; GoldenGate capture; ·         Freezing, exporting, and importing of SQL_PLAN_BASELINES, reviewing and identifying issues from Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), Active Session History (ASH) and Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM) reports; ·         Writing shell scripts and PLSQL procedures to automate repeated tasks to reduce time and issues; ·         Experience in install, configure, manage and trouble shoot UDEV, ASM, RAC database; ·         Oracle Cloud;·         Performing and preparing maintenance for OS upgrades. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining the Oracle database environments in a very large-scale database environment and mission critical large OLTP and OLAP systems. Responsibilities include database and application upgrades, migrations, cloud migrations, patching, security, replication, planning maintenances, performance tuning, troubleshooting, issue resolution, backup procedures, and restore. In addition, DBA’s will provide support and direction to developers and other support personnel as needed.  Daily responsibilities include monitoring production environment, providing acceptable system performance, and assuring data is protected and recoverable as required. This position installs, patches, maintains, and upgrades Oracle applications using Oracle utilities and monitoring tools.  Setup and monitor backups; implement and test recovery techniques; diagnose and correct performance problems.  Installs, configures, tunes, and maintains production, development, training, and test environments.  Configure and manage Oracle on AWS cloud platform.  Telecommuting is an option for this position. TO APPLY: Qualified applicants please submit resumes to: careers@rackspace.com, Ref. 11875About Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
