The Quality Engineering group at Olo provides quality, testing, and test automation expertise to over 12 software engineering teams.  We are adding a Deployment Manager to our group who will leverage our embedded model to accelerate us on our journey to continuous deployment. The primary goal of this new role is to establish and refine deployment pipelines that provide reliable, stable, risk-averse, and frequent deployments to our test and live environments.
We are looking for an experienced Deployment Manager who is excited about driving the process and cultural changes we need, as well as orchestrating infrastructure and tool refinement, to accelerate our deployment pipelines. 
Reporting into the Director of Quality Engineering, you will partner closely with DevOps and Release engineers in our Platform group, Engineering Managers and developers in our software engineering teams, and Quality Advocates and Software Engineers in Test in our Quality Engineering group. We’re not starting from scratch, but we are growing rapidly and need your strong cross-team and cross-department leadership to help us scale.
Our engineering tech stack is .NET (C# and F#) and SQL Server running in an AWS infrastructure and we use modern tools such as GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Datadog, and Sumo Logic.  Your expertise with these tools will help us move rapidly towards our CI/CD goals.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identifying build and deployment automation opportunities
  • Managing and prioritizing automation tasks
  • Coordinating deployment activities across multiple teams
  • Planning and triggering deployments to test and live environments
  • Developing programs to migrate teams to continuous delivery
  • Driving post-deployment monitoring and observability practices, including mitigation of deployment-related issues
  • Staying current with new release technologies, policies, processes, and practices and being proactive about knowledge sharing
  • Working with Development and Quality Engineering teams to integrate automated testing in the deployment pipeline; 
  • Coaching dev teams and helping push a culture of continuous delivery while advocating for deployment best practices
  • Documenting process, platform, and workflow details
  • Analyzing deployment metrics and planning corrective or improvement plans
  • Following through on deployment postmortems to identify and address root cause and continuously improve processes

What We'll Expect From You

  • Ability to define and execute cross-team and cross-department programs
  • Ability to influence and communicate standards and processes across a growing organization
  • Recent hands-on experience architecting release and deployment pipelines in a similar infrastructure
  • Recent and deep experience in our tech stack - .NET (C# and F#) and SQL Server running in an AWS infrastructure: GitHub, TeamCity, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Octopus Deploy, Datadog, Sumo Logic)
  • Previous experience working cross-functionally and holding people accountable for deliverables without a formal reporting structure
  • Excellent critical thinking capabilities
  • BS degree in a technical field of study, or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.

COVID-19 Impact
Olo is committed to the well-being of candidates, employees and our community. The  Olo NYC Headquarters will be closed for the foreseeable future because of the global outbreak of COVID-19.
