About the Department
Emerging Technologies & Incubation (ETI) is where new and bold products are built and released within Cloudflare. Rather than being constrained by the structures which make Cloudflare a massively successful business, we are able to leverage them to deliver entirely new tools and products to our customers. ETI is home to among other products, Cloudflare Workers, our solution to serverless computing. We execute billions of requests per month on behalf of developers and it is Cloudflare’s edge and network that make possible what would be otherwise impossible for almost any other organization.
About the Role
Our core mission for Cloudflare Workers is to enable developers to do what they do best — build powerful applications — without having to think or worry about infrastructure, scaling, or performance. While running code at the edge enables us to handle the infrastructure part, there’s so much more that goes into enabling developers to do their jobs. Developer experience plays a critical role in the success of our platform and our developers, and is the focus of our team. We want to build a platform that’s accessible to as many developers as possible, easy to understand, and importantly, fun and delightful to use! In this role, you will put yourself in the shoes of a developer, and use your understanding of software engineering and Web and Internet technologies to propose, evaluate, and implement innovative technical solutions that create and improve the development experience on the Cloudflare Workers development platform.
What you'll do
As a senior engineer, you will lead, guide, and mentor engineers. At the same time, you will learn from and collaborate with your team.
You will also help build a strong engineering culture focused on developer productivity, code quality, reliability, test coverage, and clean and robust architectural and API designs.
And you will perform activities towards our goal of making the Cloudflare Workers platform accessible and productive for developers:
