We are seeking a Vice President (VP) of Information Technology (IT) to join our team and lead the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions and objectives for the Company.  The VP of IT will define and execute on strategic IT initiatives in support and in alignment with the Company’s strategy.  The VP of IT will be charged with creating an IT environment that fosters high-performance, cross-functional alignment and operational efficiency.  This position reports to our Senior Vice President of Finance.

 

This position is based at our Brisbane headquarters, as frequent and regular in-person meetings with the ability to work remote at times.

·       Provide leadership and strategic direction for the enterprise-wide IT department aligned with overall company objectives and strategies

·       Work directly with leaders across the organization to assess the current and future needs of the entire organization, and translate this understanding into practical systems recommendations, acting as a visionary to facilitate strategic solutions and help drive innovation

·       Delivery & Optimization of Technology Portfolio: Review the existing and planned technology portfolio and modify as appropriate to ensure the company's portfolio is a highly integrated environment

·       Work closely with outsourcing partners to develop and deliver support in accordance with Service Level Agreements based on business requirements

·       Collaborate and negotiate with external partners to support system operations / development / integration, ensuring reliability, competence, flexibility, and cost effectiveness

·       Continue to invest in IT security with a focus on protecting our assets/people, preventing cybersecurity attacks, and managing our data securely

·       Identify and deploy innovative solutions for a dispersed work force

·       Continue IT cost containment efforts throughout outsourced services, cloud applications and new technologies

·       Build and implement the IT roadmap and strategic vision and objectives

·       Build and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans

·       Lead and facilitate IT related continuous improvement initiatives and activities

 

·       Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or technology discipline with experience leading IT professionals and/or IT teams preferred

·       10+ years in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry, pre-commercial and commercial-stage and public company experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

·       Experience with virtual network, cloud computing, and cybersecurity

·       Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and FDA guidelines on principles of software validation

·       Experience supporting FDA and other Health Authority inspections

·       Experience in leading high performing IT teams

·       Experience in supporting scientific teams for their IT infrastructure needs

·       Experience leading an IT function including both operational and strategic levels

·       Excellent people leader with strong coaching, communication and mentoring skills

·       Ability to inspire trust, respect, credibility and confidence of peers and colleagues.

·       Track record of strong personal performance combined with demonstrated ability to build and lead high performing teams in a fast growth environment

 

The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.

The salary range for this position is $285,000 - $340,000. Day One Bio considers a range of factors when determining base compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
