The Role

This role provides a great foundation for a successful Cover Whale career. You'll assist our agency partners and policyholders with a variety of needs, including product support, billing inquiries, quoting, policy changes, and cancellation requests. This is a critical, customer-facing role where you will engage with customers over the phone, email, and chat to deliver a world-class service experience.Please note: This is an on-site role with the requirement to be in the office at least 4 times per week, with a schedule of 11:00 am-8:00 pm ET. The schedule is subject to change per business need within 3 to 6 months of employment.


Responsibilities:
  • Move quickly. Respond to calls, emails, and chats from agents, policyholders, or other partners accurately and within established timelines.
  • Engage with customers to identify and address questions related to pricing issues, premium questions, policy status, and other standard policy questions.
  • Review and process applications and/or policy changes according to established guidelines.
  • Perform premium breakdowns, electronically and/or manually calculate rates based on selected coverage.
  • Process endorsements, filings, forms, and cancellation letters.
  • Guide agents through the quoting platform, Underwriting Guidelines, and other Cover Whale resources.
  • Be knowledgeable about Cover Whale products and technology.
  • Become proficient in different processes outlined by various departments such as Loss Control, Billing, Underwriting, Retention and Claims
The Expected base pay for the role will be between $62,000 - $68,000 Year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonus and other Cover Whale-sponsored total rewards/benefits.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and

2+ years of insurance experience is required.


Must-Have Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to come into the office 4 times per week (Lower Manhattan area)
  • Superior customer service and communication skills. You need to be a competent writer with the ability to explain complex topics in easy-to-understand language.
  • Experience utilizing business applications like Zendesk, HubSpot, Slack, or Excel, with an overall strong technical aptitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills
  • Candidates must be resilient, eager to learn, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-growing environment.
  • Spanish fluency is a bonus, but not required.
