UI | UX Designer (VR)

Nimble Giant is looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer.

As a UI/UX Designer, you will work collaboratively with the development team to create great player experiences, contributing to the process of designing, implementing, and optimizing the UI and UX according to specification. 

The ideal candidate should bring a collaborative mindset, have an excellent eye for detail, and deep knowledge of UI/UX best practices for games. We are looking for someone capable of coming up with novel, outside-the-box solutions to UX challenges and with the analytical mindset to champion those choices and present them to the rest of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the visual identity of the user interface for our upcoming games.
  • Work closely with game designers, programmers, and artists to design, implement, and optimize the UI and UX for our upcoming games. 
  • Break down features to produce creative and effective UX solutions that meet the game's vision, design and technical requirements.
  • Build wireframes, interactive prototypes, and presentations as needed for proof of concept and implementation.
  • Create highly polished, game-ready UI assets.
  • Help build tools and workflows for fast design and development iteration. 
  • Set and advocate for best practices in UI design and architecture.
  • Implement UI animation and motion of prepared screen assets to support interaction.
  • Prepare and document components to be used by the rest of the team. 

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience working on game development.
  • At least 2 released video games.
  • Autonomous and resolutive attitude and capabilities.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, XD & InDesign), Figma, Sketch, or other design and prototyping tools
  • Excellent visual design skills including color, shape, layout and typography.
  • Comfortable with technical implementation using game engines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivation. 
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment.
  • Ability to communicate in English.

Bonus:

  • Experience working on Virtual Reality projects. 
  • Experience working on PC or console games.
  • Experience with VFX or Motion Graphics.
  • Experience with 3D Creation tools.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine, Unity or other game engines. 
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C++.
