About the team

At its core, Stripe is a treasury company.  We are seeking someone great to join our Liquidity Management team within Treasury Finance to help us fulfill our mission of building the Global Payments and Treasury Network (GPTN). Treasury Finance is inextricably intertwined with our product suite; in order to continue to build novel and powerful products for our users, our own treasury capabilities must be excellent.

Liquidity Management works to make sure we have the right amount of money, in the right currency, in the right place, at the right time.  We partner across many teams whilst sitting in the middle of Stripe’s acceptance flows and payout flows to ensure we are preserving and optimizing Stripe’s capital and liquidity.  

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily Americas cash management and funding needs, including cash forecasting intercompany funding, FX management, and bank partner relationship management in market 
  • Partner with Engineering to identify process enhancements and automation within liquidity management, provide and implement solutions for short-term and long-term wins leading to full automation of the process across the GPTN
  • Analyze new products for impact to Treasury flows and partner closely with business and engineering teams to design scalable solutions as part of the overall Stripe architecture
  • Iterate on metrics in partnership with Data Science to provide observability of our daily liquidity management processes, ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to SLAs and risk limits.
  • Analyze and optimize funds flows across a number of areas including costs, working capital, liquidity risk, and other constraints.

Who you are

We are looking for a great individual to join our team to support North America liquidity management. In addition to daily cash management and liquidity risk functions, you will also help drive the transformation towards more efficient and automated processes building tools and capabilities to support each aspect of liquidity management. You will also help to develop metrics and ensure we’re continuously improving our processes and systems to support new products, supporting the goal of a world-class liquidity management function.

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of Treasury experience, preferably within liquidity management, finance risk management, and process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. You enjoy taking complex issues and turning them into actionable next steps.
  • A keen analytical eye with experience building and solving problems through systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and data-analysis skills (e.g. ability to navigate large data sets).
  • A clear willingness to "roll up their sleeves" and dive into the details.
  • Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and flexibility with changing requirements. 
  • The ability to work independently or with a small team.
  • Strong written, presentation and communications skills and ability to transform business narrative into technical requirements.
  • An ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, evolving environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of payments industry
  • Knowledge of regulations that pertain to the payments and financial services industry
  • Experience with SQL, R, or equivalent
