We are looking for a Transport Manager to ensure all parties involved in the transport (contractors, drivers, journey, vehicles) and Warehouses meet agreed customer delivery service level at a competitive unit transport costs. To succeed in this role, you should have thorough knowledge of transport and logistics management and an understanding of warehouse procedures and also be familiar with transport HSSE standards. Ultimately, you will give to bulk and lubes distribution sections an optimal number of fleet for safe deliveries all over the areas.
Principal accountabilities
The Transport Manager will:
- manage the bulk and packed transport contractors in order to help them to have an acceptable management level.
- supervise the all directly managed as well as the contracted warehouse activities.
- optimize the transport activities and make an optimum fleet in order to have a sustainable win_win situation with the contractors, and to have a safe distribution in accordance to VE Road Transport Policy
- supervise the delivery activities in order to synchronize better the carriers, customer services, drivers, vehicles and rounds Management, and deliveries confirmations.
- ensure that products are delivered to customers timely and at competitive cost
- monitor Transport performance (KPIs) and implement corrective actions in order to have continuous improvement
- implement all HSSE Standards in the transport and warehouse activities in order to have an acceptable HSSE level: HSSE management, driver management, vehicle management, organization, journey management.
- establish HEMP and execute action scheme planned in order to manage all related risks in the activities and achieve goal zero
- ensure transport staff development
- ensure development and implementation of proactive HSE Culture in Transport within VE and among the RT Contractors with clear KPIs, especially for the sharp-end workforces
- maintain record of RT Contractors Risk Management Appraisal standards (7 pillars audit program). Do regular appraisal and ensure continuous improvement.
- represent VE and to implement agreed actions within distribution industry
- ensure RT operational standards are implemented and rigorously follow up through SAP system
Requirements
- The incumbent should preferably be a university graduate in Engineering, transport & logistics with proven working experience.
- He/She should master the computer works, be organized and having a good discipline and work in a methodic way.
- The incumbent must also have a good level in English.
