The Telecom Billing Specialist will work in a fast-paced goal-oriented department and the duties will include managing and supporting the accounts receivables for our customers. In addition, this may include other aspects of, resolving customer billing issues and reducing the overall amount of accounts receivables.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Billing queue management of email and phone correspondence with customers in line with Company SLA's
- Understanding of the telecom billing process that results in charge or credits to customer accounts.
- Proactively research and resolve all internal and external customer inquiries courteously, accurately, and expediently
- Effectively communicate and follow-up with our external customers and internal departments regarding accounts on a timely basis
- Accurately deactivate customer billing accounts as deemed by company policy
- Disposition actions in Salesforce, such as customer checks, delay shutdown, close out cases, etc.
- Record proper documentation and resolution of billing discrepancies, customer interactions, transactions, comments and concerns
- Assist with identifying process improvement opportunities and their implementation
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Billing and Collections Department
- Must be able a quick problem solver and identify solutions that help improve the company’s cash flow
Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of telecom billing and management of invoicing cycles
- Exemplary Customer Service Skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and investigatory mindset
- Must be available for overtime or on-call status as required on weekends and weeknights.
- Solid problem solver and decision-making abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Must be able to perform basic functions in Microsoft Excel such as v-lookups, pivot tables and charts.
