A new, dynamic, and growing family office in the Bellevue (team of 10) area is seeking a tax manager to manage, plan, report and execute compliance functions. Successful candidate will contribute the preparation of all tax filings with required regulations. Work closely with all members of the team including subsidiary LLC’s. Provide input in strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. In addition will manage all domestic and international tax compliance and operations. This position will report to the CFO and Tax Director and will manage relationships with outside tax advisors and law firms. Position is not remote and reports to Bellevue office HQ.
Annual Salary Range: $150,000-$180,000
What you’ll do:
- Management of ongoing local, state, federal, and international compliance obligations for UHNW family and affiliated entities
- Optimization of new business activities and entity structuring to minimize future tax exposure
- Strategic analysis of existing activities generating tax to assess savings opportunities
- Regular communication to and collaboration with the family office principal to ensure familiarity and comfort with all ongoing tax-generating activities
- Staying abreast of proposed legislation that may impact existing business activities
- Coordination with outside service providers of all tax compliance materials in order to meet filing deadlines
- Collaboration with the family office finance team to ensure tax exposure consideration in all family office budgets
- Collaboration with the family office investment team during investment due diligence in consideration of investment tax implications
Who we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- Five (5) years of relevant tax compliance and planning experience, including individual tax returns, trust tax returns and foundation tax returns
- CPA preferred
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
- Solid knowledge about U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Successful candidates will possess a refined attention to detail, a client-service mentality, stamina to work in a fast-paced work environment, discretion, and a propensity for articulate/frequent communication with colleagues. Comfort with new/changing technology are also critical.
