We are looking for an Accounting Intern to join our technical accounting team based in New York city. This internship will offer broad exposure to the day-to-day operations of an accounting and finance team. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
What you'll do
- Assist the technical accounting team in the analysis of accounting and financial reporting considerations for complex accounting topics including but not limited to licensing, revenue recognition, leases, share-based payments, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity transactions
- Support month-end close process and monthly/quarterly financial reporting process
- Research new accounting pronouncements (IFRS/US GAAP) and SEC reporting matters and assist in developing accounting memorandums/presentations
- Work from our office in New York at least a couple days per week.
Who you are
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Accounting or Finance and graduating in 2024 or 2025.
- You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
- You possess a basic understanding of accounting principles, specifically US GAAP/IFRS
- You have experience with Microsoft Excel, including the creation of pivot tables and advanced formulas
