Sr. Platforms Developer

We are looking for creative and talented Sr. Developers to join our engineering team.  At Tempo, you will join a team of highly collaborative, skilled developers who thrive on solving key customer and market problems in innovative ways.  We are looking for teammates who can help not only our agile teams but also Tempo as a whole to accelerate its product aspirations.  The best fit for our team is someone who values creativity, adaptability, teamwork, experimentation and shipping frequently.

Technical Stack:  Kotlin or Javascript, Node.js, React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Kubernetes and DataDog


The Role 

  • Technical leadership for one or more sub-domains of the Roadmunk product

  • Work with other developers and site reliability engineers on platform initiatives

  • Design and write clean, testable, high quality code

  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to the continuous learning and improvement of the engineering team

  • Participate meaningfully in code reviews, design reviews, and solution ideation 


The Ideal Candidate 

  • 8+ years of web-based software engineering experience 

  • Experience designing and writing responsive, accessible, and progressive web applications

  • Experience in architecting scalable solutions in a public cloud infrastructure

  • Experience designing and implementing REST or GraphQL APIs for internal and 3rd party usage 

  • Experience with different architectural patterns 

  • Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code

  • Proficient in writing automated tests, system debugging and secure coding practices 

  • Worked with Kubernetes and under how it works

  • Understanding of Real User Metrics and application performance monitoring


Additional skills that would be great to have

  • Familiarity with various AWS tools such as EC2, SQS, SNS, Lambda, RDS

  • Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases especially MongoDB and Postgres

  • Experience developing and using design systems

  • Experience working in different product management methodologies

  • Experience with Kubernetes and IAC tools like terraform

  • Experience working in different product management methodologies
