Overview
The SQL Data Engineer / DBA will have end-to-end responsibility for the uptime and performance of our Datawarehouse and application SQL Servers. You’ll own the daily ETL process, data support for our software engineering teams, SQL code quality, performance tuning, and SQL DBA responsibilities. We are looking for someone that can wear multiple hats, handle a fast-paced environment, and is highly accountable.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the design, development, and deployment of data extracts, transformations, or loads, supporting the ingestion and transformation of data.

Designs and automates data quality and data validation/verification functions as part of the overall solution.

Ability to troubleshoot and tune database configurations, ETL processes, and SQL code for optimal performance.

Performance tuning/troubleshooting of database systems

Recommend and implement emerging database technologies

Set and maintain database standards

Provide database administration support for on-prem and Azure database servers

Provides code reviews

Experience with Git and Azure Repos

Deep experience with the Microsoft Stack

Experience with PowerShell
Qualifications:
-
5+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL packages

5+ years of experience with relational database architecture, design, and development
-
5+ years of experience working on/ managing Data Warehousing projects (Kimball, Inmon)

8+ years of experience in SQL database administration
-
Experience with high availability disaster recovery (HADR)

Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban)

Previous experience supporting a software engineering team

BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous start-up experience is highly desirable

SSAS & SSRS experience

Azure experience (Azure SQL, Azure DB Migration Service, Azure Data Factory)
