What is Specialist RAN Operations?

Specialist RAN Operations basically provides 24x7 back-office support to field teams for any issue related to site level as well as controller level and also perform end to end configurational changes on RAN network.

The role reports directly to the Manger RAN Operations and has 12 people reporting directly into it.

What does Expert RAN Operations do?

• Parameter configuration & Tuning (BSC, RNC, BTS, Cell & TRX) in Huawei network.
• BSC & BTS rehoming, SGSN shifting & addition, software, patch & license upgrades.
• New site creation, hard expansion, soft expansion & dual carrier configuration.
• Junk DB deletion in EMS .
• Network blocking as per the directives of PTA.
• Alarm standardization in network.
• Special event configuration & performance handling i.e. Eid & congregation.
• Data base exports & inventory management.
• Level-II support to field team for outages & degradation.
• Daily basis BSC & RNC major KPIs analysis & trouble shooting.
• Degradation analysis & rectification of issues.
• BSC & RNC redundancy assurance.
• BSC & RNC alarms & event analysis & fix.
• Network hardware & license audits & database backups.
• Physical inspections and preventive maintenance of controllers.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of hand on experience on Huawei RAN configuration.
• BE Electrical\Electronics\Telecom\Computer.
• Willing to work in 24x7 roster duty.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel & Visio)
• Proactive in solving day-to-day problems.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• In Depth knowledge of GSM architecture and call flows (2G,3G & 4G).
