Social Media Manager

You will be responsible for creating, posting and analyzing organic social media content on BigCommerce’s Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook channels. The ideal candidate has a passion for both strategy and creativity — we’re looking for someone who can implement best-in-class organic social strategies, can use data to inform strategic and creative decisions, and can create content that enhances our brand awareness and engagement on social channels.
What You’ll Do
Work with the Manager, Brand Marketing to build and execute a strategic organic social media plan for Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
Use current and emerging social media best practices to create content that appeals to a wide range of BigCommerce audiences
Develop short- and long-term content calendars for social media platforms
Monitor real-time engagement opportunities to get BigCommerce into trending online conversations
Work closely with the Design team on creative direction for video and image assets
Collaborate across marketing, sales, support, DEI and recruiting departments to optimize social content mix
Use Sprout Social, Google Analytics and Meltwater to track KPIs and find new opportunities
Ensure BigCommerce brand standards are met across campaigns that leverage social media channels
Manage the Employee Social Media Advocacy program
Who You Are
Passionate social media expert with 4-5 years experience in social strategy and content creation — excellent social copywriting skills are a must
You have worked for in-house brands or creative agencies, preferably in the B2B space
You are a true social media fan and fluent in current social trends and channel updates
You are a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
You are proficient in social media analytics and using data to share insights and recommendations
You are an outstanding communicator and presenter, comfortable interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior execs, sales, marketing, designers, partners and clients
Portfolio examples required. Please include prior work samples that demonstrate your social media writing and strategy expertise.
