We are currently seeking a social media coordinator to join our India team. In this role, you will build and maintain Mercy For Animals’ social media presence by creating relevant content for blogs and social media platforms, leveraging best practices in social media trends, and analysing data metrics to increase followers of Mercy For Animals’ social media channels.

You will do invaluable work:

  • Create and manage regularly scheduled posts and content for Mercy For Animals’ website and social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Shape, maintain, and update our website in collaboration with the CEO and relevant international departments, including occasional partnership with the digital marketing team to ensure optimal user experience
  • Gather and analyse metrics to regularly evaluate the impact of our work and propose strategies to increase reach and engagement across all platforms
  • Continually research and investigate social media trends, including hashtags, memes, and viral campaigns
  • Keep abreast of local, national, and international news stories relating to Mercy For Animals’ mission
  • Assist with community management of social media channels, including occasional live events
  • Assist in the development and execution of campaign strategies for Mercy For Animals’ corporate engagement, legal advocacy, organising, and investigations teams
  • Steward relationships with celebrities and social media influencers through engagement on social media
  • Drive traffic, increase engagement, and grow Mercy For Animals’ follower base by enhancing Mercy For Animals’ SEO
  • Adhere to all people operations and administrative policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties assigned

 

Your qualifications will take our media team to the next level:

  • Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field
  • Minimum two years’ experience in social media advocacy or closely related field
  • Thorough knowledge of or willingness to learn existing and emerging social media platforms
  • Knowledge of web design, SEO, and web-traffic data (preferred)
  • Strong presentation and written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
  • Ability to deliver creative content
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organisation
  • Commitment and openness to continued personal and organisational growth in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice principles.
