We are looking for a Financial Operations Specialist to join our team and boost our financial operations capability. The ideal candidate should be a creative problem solver and have a great sense of initiative, with the ability to independently complete daily tasks in an efficient and timely manner. Additionally, they must have exceptional communication and organization skills and be knowledgeable in legal requirements pertaining to financial operations. This individual will be responsible for payment processing (checks, refunds, chargebacks), strategizing ways to streamline processes and reduce costs, customer dispute resolution, and providing reports and useful data to support higher-level management decisions.

What you will do and achieve

  • Handle end to end checks processing (receiving, processing, refunding)
  • Engage with customer support team to provide guidance, answer questions, and process system updates
  • Provide support in creating and tracking tickets in JIRA for engineering in order to resolve customer issues and follow up for resolution
  • Review and address any financial operations alerts and resolve exception cases on a daily basis
  • Respond to customer disputes (ACDVs), file AUDs (to correct or delete information), and follow up with the fraud team on any identity theft claims
  • Ensure proper and timely response to any received validation requests
  • Handle end to end chargebacks processing, including reversal and reuploading of payments where not automated, responding to disputes via payment processor portals, and customer outreach (emails, calls) as well as resolving escalations
  • Track and manage bankruptcies, including updating internal systems and ensuring that credit bureau reporting is accurate and updated
  • Other ad hoc data analysis or reporting needs

Who you are

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional/office environment, preferably at a fintech company
  • 6+ months of experience with inbound/outbound calls
  • Experience working in a very fast paced environment with strong multi-tasking required
  • High attention to detail is a must, including minimal or no transaction errors
  • Professional, helpful, and friendly attitude coupled with the ability to listen, teach, and elicit information efficiently
  • Excellent customer relations skills as a problem solver with an interest in resolving customer issues
  • Excellent writing, email, phone and organization skills, including strong verbal communication and computer skills
