The Role

This position will focus on assisting our Agency Partners and Underwriting team with a variety of complex needs, including understanding underwriting guidelines, post-bind activities, product support, billing inquiries, quoting, policy changes, and cancellation requests.

Responsibilities

  • Move quickly. Respond to calls, emails, and internal messages quickly and efficiently
  • Provide peer mentorship and ongoing guidance to new team members
  • Take direction from the Underwriting team to assist with post-bind reviews and other underwriting activities
  • Assist with triaging and assigning cases to ensure efficient, high-quality customer outcomes
  • Serve as an escalation point for junior team members and other teams
  • Engage with customers to identify and address questions related to pricing issues, premium questions, policy status, underwriting guidelines, and other standard policy questions.
  • Perform premium breakdowns, electronically and/or manually calculate rates based on selected coverage.
  • Process endorsements, filings, forms, and cancellation letters.
  • Guide agents through the quoting platform, Underwriting Guidelines, and other Cover Whale resources
  • Be knowledgeable about Cover Whale products and technology


Please note: This is an on-site role with the requirement to be in the office at least 4 times per week


Compensation

The Expected base pay for the role will be between $68,000-$75,000 at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include discretionary bonus and other Cover Whale-sponsored total rewards/benefits.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

4+ years of previous insurance experience, preferably related to P&C

Must-Have Skills/Abilities

  • Superior customer service and communication skills. You need to be a competent writer with the ability to explain complex topics in easy-to-understand language
  • Experience utilizing business applications like Zendesk, HubSpot, Slack, or Excel, with an overall strong technical aptitude
  • Insurance is about details; you need a proven ability to be able to focus on details
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills; proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and mentor others
  • Resilient, eager to learn, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-growing environment.
  • Spanish fluency is a bonus, but not required.
