Senior Software Engineer - (Full Stack Java/Angular) - Step up to team lead

The Squiz product team works to deliver a cloud-based SaaS digital experience platform (DXP). You will be leading a team across search and application insights. The team is a mix of Java, Typescript and C++. We have created this role to support the long-term product vision with the purpose of leading strategic deliveries.

We’re location-flexible! This role is open to all candidates on the east coast of Australia.

Whether you are a Senior Software Engineer looking to step up or currently a team lead, we’re open to your background and diverse technical skills. This role will have a mix of team leadership - mentoring, guiding as well as giving technical direction and thus a desire to stay hands on is a must.

Here’s what would be nice to have:

• Experience in delivering software using Java and Angular (typescript is desirable)
• C++ is a nice to have but by no means a must
• Experience with AWS Cloud technologies (Desirable)
• Proven experience with CI/CD - (Desirable)
• Ideally experience in delivering scalable SaaS product
• Experience mentoring and guiding teams
• Experience taking the lead with technical direction
• Willingness to bring your experience and ideas to the team and collaborate on the best outcome
• Have a forward-thinking attitude to help drive search technology to the next level
• A self-motivated individual who communicates and articulates well

What you would do: 

• Work to define and enhance the technical vision and strategies
• Help to continuously improve engineering standards and practices
• Contribute to the end-to-end solutions to solve business challenges
• Create, maintain and improve code in our products, platform and supporting tooling
• Produce robust software which meets all technical and non-technical requirements
• Collaborate with team members to generate User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and provide estimates
• Provide mentorship to junior/new team members
• Participate in Engineering Guild for knowledge sharing
• Commit to self learning and grow with the company
