Senior Marketing Manager
Full-Time Position
We are looking for our next Senior Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team. The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the team of Marketing Mangers in the execution of marketing and paid media efforts that support the Cirque du Soleil shows that are part of the Resident Shows Division (RSD) portfolio. This position will oversee the management of production and implementation of all marketing materials for show including printed materials, signage, radio, TV, digital and outdoor advertising while maintaining the brand and graphics standards for each show. The Senior Marketing Manager will be key in developing and overseeing the implementation of an integrated promotion plan for all RSD shows to include local and key feeder markets throughout North America. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment, where multitasking may be required.
The Senior Marketing Manager will have the opportunity to:
- Hire, manage, train and evaluate the Marketing Managers at RSD with the Director of Sales and Marketing, while liaising with other Marketing teams in Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group to integrate Marketing campaign strategies and actions;
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the Senior Marketing and Management Executives for each of the partner properties, including MGM Grand, Bellagio, Treasure Island, The Mirage, Mandalay Bay, MGM Resorts Entertainment, MGM Resorts Media team, Hard Rock team and Walt Disney World Brand Team;
- Work with partners, agencies and vendors to manage and approve the development and oversight of budgets related to annual media, production and promotions, which are in excess of $10 million;
- Lead the development of specific creative promotional advertising for each production to stand out as a distinct entertainment experience, while speaking appropriately to a specific target audience and maintaining the brand standards;
- Initiate regular partner strategy meetings to develop and assess new and ongoing strategies for advertising, media planning, production, market research and promotions;
- Participate in the annual budget process and Marketing strategy sessions;
- Monitor the effectiveness of all advertising efforts and make recommendations for revisions as necessary. Where possible, set up metrics to receive direct feedback;
- Develop and recommend new Marketing tactics to target weekly and/or seasonal slow periods. Collaborate with Ticketing to assess results and continue to look for new solutions;
- Seek out innovative ideas to increase the visibility of RSD shows and their respective Sales objectives by planning new Marketing activities and sourcing potential vendors and/or partners;
- Manage the creation, production and implementation of all Marketing materials for RSD productions such as, but not limited to: property activations, signage, printed materials, radio, TV and outdoor advertising;
- Develop and implement various brand-enhancing Marketing strategies related to market research, segmentation and customer satisfaction surveys. Share information obtained through these strategies with the whole Sales, Marketing and Communications team;
- Lead and set strategy of approvals for all marketing, advertising and collateral materials produced by RSD partners, vendors and agencies;
- Manage the brand and graphic standards for all RSD Marketing collateral by addressing production and graphic issues, press checks, remediation with vendors, etc.;
- Develop and oversee the implementation of an integrated promotion plan for all RSD shows to include local and key feeder markets throughout North America;
- In collaboration with RSD Marketing Managers develop integrated Marketing and Public Relations events around important production milestones (i.e. 1,000th performance, anniversaries, etc.);
- Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what’s needed to be successful in this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business or in a related field;
- At least six years of previous experience in Marketing in the Entertainment, Hospitality, Travel or another similar industry, or previous experience at an agency with similar clients;
- Previous experience leading a team with experience training and motivating team members;
- Strong background and proven success in project management;
- Previous experience running business-to-consumer (B2C) media, both in-house and through a media agency, including hands-on media placement;
- Innovative, creative professional with solid knowledge of local, regional and national entertainment media;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
- Strong knowledge of ATP, occupancy and overall ticket sales trends is desirable;
- Availability to work varying hours, weekends or holidays for special events/projects;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- Verification of the right to work in the United States for Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as demonstrated by completion of the Form I-9 upon hire and the submission of acceptable documentation (as noted on the Form I-9) verifying one’s identity and work authorization;
